This gown was made from the skirt of my wedding dress. My mother made both dress and gown. The gown is hemmed with blue satin ribbon. The two tucks in the skirt were an afterthought, or rather, a workaround. We cut the skirt then decided it should have been longer. I like the effect of the tucked hem, in any case. The princess seams weren't in the christening gown pattern either. The wedding dress had a six-piece skirt, and the christening gown was cut from the middle of the wedding dress skirt to take advantage of these seams.

Original Gown Painting
My most popular and requested painting is a gown painting and in particular I have had requests for the rosy one like this, as cards, prints and bookmarks too. This one was a special order I did a few months ago, the frame is a gorgeous antique one with an acorn design through it.
